Here’s an example of what can be accomplished with a smart phone and photo apps.  
The original picture is taken with an iPhone and the After pic was modified with three apps:

1 Adjusted with Aviary for photo corrections and creative effects.

2 Masked with Superimpose.

3 Brought back to Aviary to add CMYK stickers and some color adjustments

4 Moldiv for the framing and text.

The whole process took under 30 minutes. The results are great for sharing on social media.

Whereas phone cameras and their apps will never replace the high quality of a good DSLR camera, the simplicity, ease and speed that are available makes it a great on-the-go option that is replacing many point-and- shoot cameras. The quality is not as high, but with addition of using creative apps it’s opened up photo sharing in a fast and entertaining manner.
